What is a MEMORIZER? Language learning made easier... These little machines for learning Spanish have been designed based on the theory that aided recall is a better way to acquire a new language. Aided recall means that clues are always given during these exercises so as to facilitate the task of bringing back to mind a recently studied language structure: sentence, phrase or word.
These clues are given here by showing the learner one or more letters of the words within the language structure. An approximate translation is also provided, which serves as another clue. These clues provide a graded memory task which is preferable and more effective than exercises which just ask the learner, "OK, so how do you say ___ in Spanish?".
The importance of seeing ALL the text... Furthermore, many of my MEMORIZER tasks ask the student to recall full phrases instead of single words (such as the common "fill in the gap" activities). Seeing the entire phrase helps the learner become familiar with the language holistically; much more useful and practical for communication.
MEMORIZERS for different tasks... Below are groups of MEMORIZERS of different types. Try them out. You are welcome to copy and paste texts into the MEMORIZERS from other pages in English Spanish Link or to insert texts and vocabulary from Spanish courses you are learning elsewhere... ¿Qué es un MEMORIZER? El aprendizaje del idioma facilitado... Estas herramientas para aprender inglés han sido diseñadas según la teoría de que la retención de nuevas estructuras lingüísticas ocurre con mayor facilidad cuando la mente recibe pequeñas pistas para recordar. Estas pistas se ofrecen siempre durante estas tareas con el fin de recordar de nuevo una estructura (expresión, frase o palabra) recientemente estudiada.
Las pistas que se ofrecen aquí se tratan de una o más letras que forman parte de las palabras de la estructura lingüística. Además, una traducción aproximada acompaña el texto, la cuál sirve de una pista suplementaria. Estas pistas crean una tarea mental graduada, preferible y más eficaz que los ejercicios que simplemente preguntan al alumno: "Bien. ¿Cómo se dice ____ en inglés?".
La importancia de contemplar TODO el texto... Además, muchas de mis tareas con MEMORIZER pide al alumno que recuerde frases enteras en vez de palabras sueltas (tal como en los ejercicios corrientes de "rellenar los espacios"). Al contemplar la frase entera el alumno se familiariza con el idioma en su totalidad; mucho más útil y práctico a la hora de comunicarse.

Puedes copiar y pegar textos en los MEMORIZERS de otras páginas de English Spanish Link si así lo deseas o insertar textos y vocabulario de los cursos de inglés que ya estás estudiando...
