SCHOOL RULES

Certain basic rules need to be stated for the safety and the welfare of the College community. These are:

1. Students are to show respect for all their fellows and for their property.

2. Students are to arrive promptly to school and classes. The day starts with morning registration and students should aim to be in school by 9.00am.

3. Students are expected to work hard and to complete homework, and other tasks set, to the best of their ability.

4. While at school, on the school bus or involved in a school activity, students are the responsibility of their teachers and therefore subject to their authority.

5 Absences from school are to be accounted for. No student may leave the campus during the day for any reason without permission from the administration.

6. No drugs or alcohol may be brought to school or consumed on school premises. Such activity, or the support of such activity, will result in immediate expulsion.

7. The School will not tolerate the carrying of any weapon, or any instrument that could be utilised as a weapon. Breaking this rule may result in immediate expulsion.

8. Smoking is not permitted except for members of the Sixth Form in a specially designated area and only with parental consent. Expulsion will result if this rule is broken.

9. School uniform must be worn by all students up to Year 11. Sixth Formers are not required to wear uniform but are expected to dress appropriately for a working environment.

10. All students are expected to take physical education and to be provided with a full sports kit. In the short term a note from parents MUST be produced if a child is to be excused; prolonged absence from PE will only be granted on production of a medical certificate.

11. Students are not allowed to come to school on any form of motorised transport at any time.

12. The swimming pool is out of bounds unless students are under the supervision of staff.

13. Students crossing the main road must use the footbridge.

14. The School reserves the right to ask for the removal of any student whose presence interferes with the well-being or education of others.

15. Acceptance of the rules is implicit in accepting a place at the School.

Additional rules and regulations may be applied from time to time to cover particular circumstances. They will have the same standing as those listed here.
