This has no use at all

To do something for a purpose...  

Cuando haces algo con un propósito, no uses 'for' sino 'to + inf.'

I went to the bank to take out some money

Fui al banco para sacar dinero

Use 'para que' plus the subjunctive if the subject changes. Note you often don't need to translate the modal auxiliary (will, etc.)...

Si el sujeto cambia, hay que usar 'so (that)' + algún auxiliar como 'will' etc. para evitar el subjuntivo...

I'm doing this so (that) you'll learn

Hago esto para que aprendas

He worked hard so (that) his family could have a decent life

Trabajó mucho para que su familia tuviera una vida decente

We use 'por' + inf. when it means 'things left to do'...

Observe plus adjective or adverb...

Por + adjetivo adverbio + 'que'...

We use 'por' + preposition to show movement...

No traduzcas 'por' por 'for' con preposiciones. Usa sólo el verbo + preposición...

Se puso por delante de los demás

It went under the table

Pasó por debajo de la mesa

The cow jumped over the moon

La vaca saltó por encima de la luna
