Querida Carmen:
Supongo que no te extrañará recibir noticias mías, pues la buena amistad y entendimiento que se inició entre nosotros no debería quedar truncada por el hecho de que esté demasiado ocupado con mi trabajo y que me encuentre fuera de la ciudad.
No es muy frecuente que me sienta tan a gusto con una chica. Siempre tengo algo para contarte y siempre me escuchas con atención y pareces comprenderlo todo.
Me gustaría mucho que me escribieras a mi dirección aquí en Madrid, donde tengo que alojarme un par de meses más hasta que se termine mi trabajo aquí. Si no, sería un par de meses muy largos y algo vacíos a pesar del trabajo que me espera.

Dear Carmen
I can imagine you won't be surprised to get this letter from me as the friendship and understanding that has happened between us shouldn't be cut off just because I'm too busy with my work and am out of town.
It's not every day that I feel so good with a girl. I always have something to tell you and you always listen attentively and seem to understand me in everything.
I'd be really happy if you would write to my address here in Madrid, where I have to stay for a couple of months until my work here is over. If you can't, it's going to be a very long and empty couple of months despite all the work that's waiting for me.
I think about you often.
